Ms. Jessica is happily married with one precocious daughter, Tori, who loves to take every possible class at the studio. She lives in a cozy home in Birmingham where she fills her mornings with homeschooling her daughter. Ms. Jessica is also a professional singer and actress. She enjoys encouraging her students to listen for God's call to follow their dreams! She is very blessed to have been a teacher at 5678 Dance & More from the beginning and cherishes her friendships with Ms. Shalita and all present and past teachers and staff. Ms. Jessica and her family love to watch old Psych episodes and are Disney super fans.

Lucy Glover has been dancing for most of her life. She started dancing at Dancemakers when she was two years old. She continued there until she was 15 when she transferred to Miss Kelley's school of dance. She continued dancing while in college at Troy University and she started teaching dance at Miss Kelley's School of Dance in Trussville in 2006. She taught there for three years before taking a break from the dance world. In 2015, she started teaching at 5678 Dance and More and has been here since. She is also the field show choreographer for the Springville High School Tigerettes. While she teaches combo classes for all ages, and enjoys all types of dance, tap is her favorite. Lucy is 33 years old, a Springville High School graduate and is currently a junior at UAB, majoring in Social Work. She is married to Tim and they have five children: Nick (11), Bo (9), Anna and Lyla (4) and JP (2). They attend Springville First United Methodist Church and love all things Springville! They also love camping together. Lucy doesn't have a lot of spare time, but when she gets a free minute, enjoys reading, thrifting, and of course, DANCING!

At the age of two, Melissa started taking dance from Ms. Shalita, and she is thrilled to be entering her second year of teaching at 5678. Dance has always been a part of her life, and now she loves to call it her "job". Along with teaching at the studio, she also does the choreography for two different high school dance lines. If she is not at the studio, she is more than likely on a football field with high school dance girls! People say "if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life", and this could not be a truer statement for Melissa. Nothing really compares to her love for dance except maybe a Hershey bar and a canned Coke from a vending machine!

Tenecia was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She has a two year old that is the light of her world. Her favorite food is Reese's Peanut Butter cups...yes that's a food! She has a variety of dance experience including ballet, tap, jazz, clogging, and hip hop. She has danced in many competitions and recitals, but teaching is what she is most excited about. Tenecia is thrilled to work at her former dance studio with Mrs. Shalita, while her former teacher now teaches HER little one.

Brandy took baton twirling lessons from a neighbor who was a majorette at Springville. She took dance and baton from Susan Marsh Studios in Birmingham where she studied for 3 years and was a member of their Rockettes dance team. She took private and group baton lessons in Gadsden at Strut USA. She competed in numerous baton competitions in events such as: basic march, military march, super X strut, modeling, solo, two-baton and show twirl. She was awarded several titles such as Miss Strut Queen, Miss Springtime Majorette and Miss Majorette of Alabama. At the end of her eighth- grade year, she was named one of the Feature Twirlers at Springville High School wheres she performed for four marching seasons with the Mighty Band From Tiger Land. She was a member of the cheer / dance team and feature twirler for the Alabama Raiders – a semi-professional football team that was based in Gadsden. She started teaching baton and dance in 1991 and has worked with numerous teams. Brandy is a licensed National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA) Judge and have judged indoor competitions across the South East. She feels that performing in front of an audience teaches so much – discipline, confidence, and improvisation. During the day, she is a lawyer and she loves helping people. She is married to Brian Robertson, who is also a lawyer and owns A+ Marine in Springville. They have two daughters - Whitley and Rory.

Melanie joined 5678 this year as co-teacher for the 3 baton classes. Melanie took dance classes for 13 years from Joanne Plimpton, and was a majorette for 2 years at Hokes Bluff High School. In college she was a Marching Ballerina for 3 years (Blow Southerners!) and was honored to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in 1996. After a 20 year career in retail management, Melanie recently embarked on a totally new journey and is thrilled to be serving as the Director of Children's Ministries at Clearbranch United Methodist Church. Melanie's husband Jake is a restaurant manager in Birmingham, and her two kids, Isaac and Anna Kate, are students at Odenville Middle School.

Jennifer started teaching dance while in college. She learns so much every year from students. She has taught all ages, ballet, tap, jazz, clogging, but the past 12 years,her passion has been teaching preschoolers. She loves to watch a dancer dance across the stage with a 15 year trophy and see God working through them. She has been married for 14 years. She is a mom of two, step mom to one, and a fur mama to various cats and dog over the years. She is a wife, a full time working mama, a dance teacher, a cheer coach, and Sunday school teacher. Jennifer enjoys cooking, throwing parties, traveling, and Alabama football. Her "Happy Place" is a camper in a Lamar county hunting camp where you will find her working on a puzzle or reading her bible while the girls hunt with daddy.

Carrie teaches piano on Tuesday nights and loves every minute of it! By day, she works in an Accounting and Technology department for a large restaurant company where she teaches and trains people on new software. She tells people "I'm a CPA by trade, IT by choice, and a Teacher at heart!" In her spare time, Carrie loves community theater, reading, taking dance at 5678, and traveling to visit friends.

"Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing." Psalms 100:2 Amanda considers herself an old-fashioned, educated, country girl who loves Jesus, her family, the Crimson Tide, and music! Her love for music began at a very early age, and music has always been a huge part of her life. She sang her first solo, "Do Lord," in church at age 4. At age 6, she began piano lessons and at age 12, voice lessons. She continued both through the age of 23. Amanda also took flute lessons and taught herself how to play the clarinet and some guitar. She was in marching/concert band grades 7-12 at Ashville High School where she made All-State Band on flute, 1st chair All-County 4 consecutive years, and served as Drum Major. After graduating high school, she went to Gadsden State Community College on a full tuition music scholarship where she sang in the A Capella Choir and Show Band under the direction of the late and renown Rip Reagan and Bill Crowe. She transferred to the University of Alabama School of Music and was a member of the University Chorus, Women's Chorale, and Chamber Choir. During that time, she was the music/worship coordinator at the Bama Wesley Foundation. After college, she taught choir and music appreciation at Pinson Valley High School before taking a job at Springville High School as a media specialist. She assisted with the SHS choir program for several years including piano accompaniment. Amanda is so excited for the wonderful opportunity to share her love of music with students at 5678 Dance and More.
Classes: Ballet Experience: Anna Fargarson grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where she began dancing at 4 years old. She received most of her technical training from Briarwood Ballet under the teaching of instructors including Barbra Barker, Kenneth Tolle, and Brittany Bischoff. She spent her summers attending classes and intensives at Briarwood Ballet and learning many variations under the instruction of Jim Eaton and others. During her senior year of high school Ms. Fargarson was invited to join Ballet Exaltation, Briarwood Ballet's pre-professional touring company. During her time as a member with Ballet Exaltation she had many performing opportunities including Project Dance in Kansas City. She, also, organized and taught ballet classes for Agape Academy where she enjoyed teaching her students to use the gift of dance for the glory of Jesus Christ. Ms. Fargarson moved to Syracuse, New York in August of 2014 to join Light of the World Ballet's trainee program. As a trainee she traveled to Myanmar(Burma) and Peru. In the Fall of 2017 she was promoted to an Apprentice position. Ms. Fargarson is on the LWB teaching staff and served as a guest teacher for River City Dance in Lewiston, Idaho. Ms. Fargarson has now returned to the Birmingham, AL area where she is pursuing teaching ballet.
Classes: Clogging Experience: 16 years of dance Annabelle has danced with Mrs. Shalita since she was 2. She started out at Shake, Rattle, and Roll and moved to 5678 Dance when the studio opened. She is honored to be teaching for her today to spread God's love and the joy of dancing! Dance is a very important part of her life, and she loves spending her life using the amazing talent God gave her. This is her 16th year of dance, and she is so excited to be spending it as a teacher and as a member of the Blazerette dance team at UAB. She is attending Jefferson State Community College on a full scholarship and plans to transfer to UAB after obtaining an Associate's degree! Other than dancing she loves to go to Disney, watch movies and YouTube!
Classes: Combo Experience: 13 years of dance Allie has danced at 5678 Dance & More since the age of 5. Dance has been such a huge part of her life and because of her amazing teachers it has shaped her into who she is today. Allie is a freshman at Jefferson State Community College and plans to become an ultrasound technician. After 13 years of dancing with 5678 she is so blessed to be able to continue her dance career as a UAB Blazerette! Allie is so excited to teach alongside her favorite dance teacher and biggest role model Ms. Shalita! Allie has always dreamed of teaching dance at 5678 and is so blessed to have the opportunity to spread the love of dance and most importantly God’s love for each student that walks through the studio. Besides dancing Allie enjoys spending time with her friends, eating, and keeping up with the Kardashian’s.
