At the age of two, Melissa started taking dance from Ms. Shalita, and she is thrilled to be entering her second year of teaching at 5678. Dance has always been a part of her life, and now she loves to call it her "job". Along with teaching at the studio, she also does the choreography for two different high school dance lines. If she is not at the studio, she is more than likely on a football field with high school dance girls! People say "if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life", and this could not be a truer statement for Melissa. Nothing really compares to her love for dance except maybe a Hershey bar and a canned Coke from a vending machine!

Amanda considers herself an old-fashioned, educated, country girl who loves Jesus, her family, the Crimson Tide, and music! Her love for music began at a very early age, and music has always been a huge part of her life. She sang her first solo, "Do Lord," in church at age 4. At age 6, she began piano lessons and at age 12, voice lessons. She continued both through the age of 23. Amanda also took flute lessons and taught herself how to play the clarinet and some guitar. She was in marching/concert band grades 7-12 at Ashville High School where she made All-State Band on flute, 1st chair All-County 4 consecutive years, and served as Drum Major. After graduating high school, she went to Gadsden State Community College on a full tuition music scholarship where she sang in the A Capella Choir and Show Band under the direction of the late and renown Rip Reagan and Bill Crowe. She transferred to the University of Alabama School of Music and was a member of the University Chorus, Women's Chorale, and Chamber Choir. During that time, she was the music/worship coordinator at the Bama Wesley Foundation. After college, she taught choir and music appreciation at Pinson Valley High School before taking a job at Springville High School as a media specialist. She assisted with the SHS choir program for several years including piano accompaniment. Amanda is so excited for the wonderful opportunity to share her love of music with students at 5678 Dance and More.
